…though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home. (John Howard Payne, 1823)
First, thank you. To our family, to new friends and old, thank you.
You made this trip so much more than we’d hoped; your presence and comments strengthened and encouraged us.
Last night, we slept in our own bed. This afternoon, we raked pine needles from our driveway in the crisp, autumn air. This evening, we’ll pop popcorn and watch a movie, curled up in our favorite chairs.
It is good to be home.
After we unpack and remind our bodies of a new time zone, we have things to do.
First, to cook! We had many wonderful dishes on this journey that I can’t wait to recreate. If you like to cook, come visit me at pinchandswirl.com.
Second, we have a writing project to finish.
There are many thorough guides and online resources about Italy. They overwhelmed us at first, but inspired us once we had a basic plan.
Early in our trip design, we looked for a simple starting point – a brief, specific framework of practical details distilled in one place. We never found one. So, we decided to write it ourselves. We’re writing a one-week plan for each city we visited with options to combine them (for Kindle and mobile devices). We hope to help similarly inclined couples to resolve tedious details quickly giving them more time for creative planning.
When the desire ‘to go’ sprouts again, we hope you’ll be with us. For now, we’d love to hear from you or answer your questions – send us a note by clicking ‘contact us’ at the top.
Until next time…
